The team led by Laurent Blanc will be defending their trophy from last year. They won it after a 2-1 triumph over Girondins Bordeaux. For PSG, the Saturday Champions Trophy match will be the eighth one in their history – previously the Paris-based team won it three times (only 4 squads outshine them in this aspect). Three of their four losses, including the most recent 2010 one, happened only in penalty shots after a goalless overtime.
In the recent season, PSG won the French Ligue 1, with nine points separating them from AS Monaco. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was one of the team’s greatest MVPs, finding his way into the opponent’s goal 26 times. The Swedish player is still in great shape – he got a hattrick in Tuesday’s friendly match versus Kitchee SC of Hongkong.

The team has yet to win aTrophée des Champions title. The squad, currently managed by Jocelyn Gourvennec, has played in a comparably crucial match only once – in 2009. Unfortunately, playing on the Montreal Olympic Stadium they lost 0-2 to Girondins Bordeaux.
En Avant cannot consider their previous League 1 season to be successful. The squad finished in very low 16th place, just 2 points between them and relegation. Of their 42 points, 28 were earned on their own pitch. On Saturday, however, their skill will be tested – they need to play their absolute best to have a chance against the defending champion.
Summary
The favorites of the match that will kick off the current season for both teams are undoubtedly the Parisians. Armed with the brilliant Ibrahimovic, more experience and a couple of previous titles under their belt, Guingamp will be struggling to reach a satisfying result.
